Finance Officer

Location: Middlemoor, EX2 7HQ

Full-time, 3 month FTC, Office Based

Salary: 16.18ph (Inside IR35)

We are looking to recruit a Finance Officer to join a leading Public Sector organisation.

This role requires you to perform central purchasing and exchequer activities with specific responsibility for sourcing goods and services including ICT, travel and accommodation provision, the administration and accurate processing and recording of payments, receipts and other financial transactions.

This post doesn't directly control a budget, although there are some decisions that will be made on where to spend money, expense claims to authorise, and whether a purchase should be authorised in line with policy.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Source purchasing requests within service standards, including urgent requests.
  • Liaise with suppliers and customers.
  • Check and process all invoices received on to financial system.
  • Agree and if necessary, challenge purchase of requests with customer.
  • Administer receipt of goods inwards, including storage and distribution.
  • To add new suppliers to the procurement systems.
  • Receipt and record all income received.
  • Process urgent payments.
  • Assist with audits.
  • Monitor and maintain records for any purchases made.

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good administrative skills.
  • Ability to organise your own time and to plan and carry out activities in an orderly and structured way.
  • Able to evidence good computer skills and experience in using software packages including spreadsheets and word.

This role is commutable from Dartmouth, Dawlish, Tiverton, Taunton, Honiton and Okehampton.
