Isca Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join a growing business in Exeter. You will be joining the business as part of a highly effective finance team in the role of Financial Accountant.

Financial Accountant - The Role:

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for:

Producing timely financial reporting on a monthly basis including variance analysis.
Ensuring the month-end closing activities such as account reconciliations, journal entries and adjustments are completed accurately and to deadline.
Monitoring changes in tax legislation and identifying those which may have implications for the business
Monthly balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining fixed asset register
Assisting with annual budgeting and forecasting
Preparing VAT returns
Preparing information for audits and liaising with external auditors.
Supporting the Head of Finance with projects as needed, including system developments, streamlining processes, etc.
Business partnering non finance teams, providing financial and technical advice helping budget holders to better understand financial information.
Helping to ensure the department is compliant with current legislation and group and meets all mandatory deadlines

Financial Accountant - The Rewards:

In return this employer provides an engaging working environment, competitive salary of up to £60,000 - £67,000pa plus amazing comprehensive benefits package including generous holiday entitlement, private medical and dental cover, free parking and so much more.

Hours: Mon - Fri, 37.5hours some flex on start and finish times.

Location: Hybrid with 2 days per week in the Exeter office

Financial Accountant - The Person:

We are keen to hear from qualified accountants with excellent technical knowledge including tax and VAT as well as a proven ability in delivering accurate financial reporting.
You will be a self-starter with a high energy approach and a desire to work in a hands on role in a fast-paced, change environment.
You’ll be a first-rate communicator able to build effective relationships as well as business partner with non-finance partners to develop their financial understanding.
A natural solutions finder with excellent analytical skills, able to analyse, understand and explain information to non-finance staff at all levels.
You will be a team player and enjoy working in a collaborative manner with colleagues at all levels in the business.
Strong IT skills including Excel are essential.
