We are currently partnering with a public sector organisation based in the South West, who are recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join their growing team on a permanent basis.This role can be based at offices in Exeter or Weston-super-Mare. The role is full-time with a salary band of £55,000-£60,000 (subject to experience) and the start date is subject to notice.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Leading the monthly preparation of the Group’s Statement of Financial Position
- Overseeing Group VAT return, ensuring accountability and compliance
- Providing technical expertise to support the production of annual financial accounts
- Assisting with the smooth running of internal and external audits, liaising with auditors
- Line managing Finance Officers
- Reviewing the nominal ledger, producing monthly review packs for the Group and all Subsidiaries
- Reviewing and analysing monthly balance sheet reconciliations for the Group
- Supporting the service charge team in production of Service Charge accounting statements
Experience required:
- Experience required in Financial Accounting
- Experience working within the public sector is desirable
- ICAEW / ACCA / CIPFA / ICAS qualification is preferred
