Interim Project Accountant Needed for 3 to 6 months in Tiverton We are seeking a highly motivated Interim Project Accountant to work for a dynamic growing business in mid Devon. This role is hybrid working (2 or 3 days a week in the office) This role is crucial in supporting the Head of Finance with Group reporting activities and stakeholder management, as well as providing insightful financial analysis to drive business performance. The successful candidate will be integral in supporting various financial and operational projects, reporting mechanisms, and cost improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities: * Group Reporting & Stakeholder Management: Support the Head of Finance with Group reporting and external stakeholder requirements, including covenant reporting, shareholder reports, and investment analysis. * Month-End Financial Reporting: Assist with the month-end process, ensuring accurate and timely production of Group and departmental management accounts. * Performance Analysis: Analyse service level accounts, interpret monthly and year-to-date performance, and identify areas for improvement. * Cost Investigations: Investigate operational costs and overheads, identifying key cost drivers and providing insights to support cost management. * Benchmarking & Reporting: Collaborate with operational and support teams to benchmark services, develop financial and non-financial performance metrics, and monitor service performance. * Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with managers to enhance their understanding of financial/non-financial performance measures and ensure Finance is well-informed of service developments. * Cost Improvement Programmes: Lead the development and evaluation of Group-wide cost improvement programs by collaborating with teams to model financial and operational impacts. * Tailored Reporting: Produce monthly reports customised for key stakeholders, providing relevant insights for decision-making. * Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Support the month-end balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accurate financial reporting. * Financial Management Reporting: Deliver high-quality management reporting, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to inform decision-making. * Audit Support: Lead and support the annual audit process, working with external auditors and managing internal information flow. * Internal Audit Support: Assist in reviewing service managements financial controls, processes, and procedures. * Ad-Hoc Projects: Support the Head of Finance and CFO with additional financial projects as required. Qualifications & Experience: * Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) * Proven experience in a similar finance role with a strong track record of delivering high-quality financial analysis and reporting. * Excellent knowledge of financial systems, processes, and standards. * Experience in implementing and improving financial systems and procedures. * Strong commercial and financial analysis skills, with a keen eye for detail and process improvement. Skills & Attributes: * Hands-on approach with a "sleeves rolled up" mentality. * Strong organisational and time management skills. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. * A positive, proactive, and diplomatic attitude, with a creative mindset. * A _can-do_ attitude, confident in driving and implementing change.
