JMC Aviation are a leading Aviation Engineering, Training & Recruitment business based in Exeter, looking to recruit a Management Accountant to join our expanding team.

This is a Permanent position working Forty hours a week, Monday-Friday.

The Role:
We are looking for someone to provide timely, robust management information and financial analysis for JMC Aviation and it's global subsidiaries. The successful Applicant will be assisting the Finance Director to ensure an efficient and effective service is provided and ensuring the accounts function is able to meet changes in legislation and the company's demands.

The responsibilities of the Management Accountant will include:

- Reviewing and approving management accounts within agreed structure and timeframes

- Preparing consolidated accounts including global group companies

- Developing and overseeing financial systems and procedures and identifying opportunities to improve these Preparing and presenting weekly statistics on company performance

- Supporting Assistant Management Accountant with month-end closure

- Reviewing and signing off Balance Sheet Reconciliations

- Liaising with Business Managers to help drive improvement and business profitability

- Liaising with external advisors on tax related matters

- Weekly cashflow reporting

- Preparing budgets and quarterly forecasts

- Preparing and presenting departmental performance analysis vs budget

- Producing and reviewing department KPI's

- Reviewing and analysing company KPI's

- Monitoring changes to legislation and tax compliance across global companies

- Overseeing the purchasing process and controls

- Supporting Credit Control process to ensure company invoices are paid within terms

- Maintaining and reviewing nominal codes and chart of accounts

- Supporting with the production of statutory accounts and tax returns

- Provision of information for audits and taking a lead during internal and external audits

- Review company quarterly VAT Returns ensuring that all transactions are reported correctly

- Identify improvements to be made in systems/processes that are currently being used within department and wider business

- Managing and coaching direct line reports

- Other duties as directed by your Line Manager


In order to be successful in this role, the Management Accountant will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

- CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified, with previous relevant work experience

- Proven experience of preparing and presenting finalised Management Accounts

- Strong communication skills both written and verbal, with confidence to communicate to Senior Management and Non-Finance Managers

- Experience with preparing, managing and analysing budgets

- Ability to identify, monitor and report on business KPI's

- Good knowledge of accounting systems (preferably Sage Accounts and Xero)

- Able to analyse large quantities of data within Excel

- High level of numeracy and ability to deal accurately with complex calculations

- Able to work to tight deadlines and respond to changing situations

- Willingness to develop skills and knowledge
