Interim Project Accountant for 6 months in East Devon We're seeking a proactive and adaptable experienced Project Accountant to provide critical financial support across the initiatives and operations of our client's business. About the Role This interim position has been created to support the Finance team during a period of heightened activity, which includes key strategic and operational projects as well as preparations for year-end audit. The role offers variety, a chance to work collaboratively with project teams, and the opportunity to make a tangible impact within the business. Key Deliverables * Provide financial expertise to strategic and operational projects. * Work closely with project teams to ensure financial objectives are met. * Support the Head of Finance in achieving key departmental goals. * Collaborate with the wider Finance team to meet organisational needs. * Manage multiple priorities with flexibility and efficiency. Main Duties and Responsibilities * Work with the Head of Finance on strategic initiatives, ensuring milestones are achieved. * Deliver financial support to project teams, including: o Producing accurate, timely project finance reports. o Monitoring budgets, investigating variances, and reporting on outcomes. o Forecasting project costs and tracking financial benefits. * Assist in preparing robust business cases alongside operational managers. * Attend project meetings, ensuring financial deliverables are aligned with project timelines. * Enhance financial processes, reporting, and systems to support organisational efficiency. * Support the Head of Finance by deputising in meetings and preparing key project documentation. * Lead the review and update of financial policies and manuals as directed. * Assist with compliance initiatives * Provide comprehensive support for year-end and audit processes. * Contribute to the finance team's preparation for transitioning to a new accounting system. * Build strong, professional relationships with stakeholders, fostering collaboration across departments.
