Construction Manager

Location: Exeter
Rate: 300 to 350 per day (CIS/Umbrella)
Hours: 40hrs per week - Mon - Fri (07:30 to 17:30)

Key Requirements:

  • SMSTS (Site Manager Safety Training Scheme)
  • Black CSCS Card
  • Asbestos Awareness
  • Experience working in challenging environments (experience with MoJ/Prisons is beneficial)
  • Able to work independently and demonstrate leadership in a team
  • Suitable management qualifications (NVQ L6 minimum)
  • Fully IT conversant

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of construction projects from inception to completion
  • Lead and motivate the project team, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and safety standards are met
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with regulations, safety standards, and project specifications
  • Oversee subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring quality of work and timely delivery
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and other project teams
  • Prepare and manage project documentation, including reports and schedules
  • Monitor and manage project costs, ensuring efficient use of resources
  • Ensure all safety protocols, including asbestos and health & safety regulations, are adhered to

Desirable:

  • Experience in construction projects within prisons or other secure environments
  • Flexible and adaptable to varying project requirements
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
