Construction Manager

Location: Exeter
Rate: 300 to 350 per day (CIS/Umbrella)
Hours: 40hrs per week - Mon - Fri (07:30 to 17:30)

Key Requirements:

SMSTS (Site Manager Safety Training Scheme)
Black CSCS Card
Asbestos Awareness
Experience working in challenging environments (experience with MoJ/Prisons is beneficial)
Able to work independently and demonstrate leadership in a team
Suitable management qualifications (NVQ L6 minimum)
Fully IT conversant

Key Responsibilities:

Manage all aspects of construction projects from inception to completion
Lead and motivate the project team, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and safety standards are met
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with regulations, safety standards, and project specifications
Oversee subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring quality of work and timely delivery
Coordinate with key stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and other project teams
Prepare and manage project documentation, including reports and schedules
Monitor and manage project costs, ensuring efficient use of resources
Ensure all safety protocols, including asbestos and health & safety regulations, are adhered to

Desirable:

Experience in construction projects within prisons or other secure environments
Flexible and adaptable to varying project requirements
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
