We are acting on behalf of our client who is seeking a well-organised Bookkeeper to join their outsourced finance department. This role is based in the vibrant Exeter area and offers a fantastic opportunity to provide comprehensive bookkeeping services using modern tools like Xero cloud-based software.
As a Bookkeeper, you will handle a variety of responsibilities including maintaining purchase ledgers, conducting bank reconciliations, preparing VAT returns, creating sales invoices, and managing supplier payment runs. For our more complex clients, you will also manage overseas sales and purchases, tackle overseas VAT issues, and oversee stock management among other tasks.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Maintain accurate financial records and prepare financial reports.
- Perform bank reconciliations and manage purchase ledgers.
- Prepare VAT, CIS returns, and handle complex coding for diverse client accounts.
- Engage directly with clients to ensure their financial needs are met and records are maintained accurately.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of bookkeeping experience.
- Proficiency in Xero or similar cloud-based accounting software.
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.
