Hyperion Partners is seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Operative to join our client's team at a vibrant student accommodation property in Exeter. As a Maintenance Operative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the property remains safe, clean, and well-maintained for residents. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspections and carry out repairs and maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, and general property upkeep.
- Manage and address reactive maintenance requests from residents and staff, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
- Liaise with contractors and suppliers as required, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard.
- Support health and safety practices, reporting any issues promptly and maintaining accurate maintenance records.
- Assist with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks to keep facilities in excellent condition.
- Carry out minor decorative works, helping to create a welcoming and well-maintained living environment for students.
About You:
The ideal candidate will be proactive, with a keen eye for detail and strong problem-solving abilities. You should be able to work independently, take initiative, and communicate effectively with both residents and team members.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar maintenance role, ideally within a residential or student accommodation environment.
- Practical skills across multiple trades, including basic plumbing, electrical work, and general repairs.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures and the ability to work in accordance with industry standards.
- A positive, flexible attitude and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ in Maintenance Operations or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
