We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Team Manager to lead and manage a team of dedicated professionals, ensuring the best possible outcomes for children and young people in foster care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of Social Workers and Family Practitioners, overseeing day-to-day support and assessments.
- Ensure the provision of high-quality support services for foster carers, children, and their families.
- Work closely with the social work teams, families, carers, and multi-agency partners to ensure children's needs are met and that support services are accessible.
- Oversee assessments of needs and support plans for carers and families.
- Manage resources and budgets effectively.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of fostering service improvements.
- Participate in relevant meetings and represent the fostering service at local and regional forums.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and best practice guidelines.
- Promote a positive and supportive team environment.
Skills & Experience Required:
- A social work qualification and up-to-date registration with the Social Work England (SWE) register.
- Experience of working in children's services, with a focus on fostering, kinship care, or special guardianship.
- Leadership and management experience, including experience of supervising, mentoring, and developing staff.
- Knowledge of the Fostering Regulations and experience of working in a multi-agency and court environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Budget management experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of the legislation, models, and theories relevant to children's social work.
- Good recording and planning skills.
- A valid UK driving licence and access to a car*.
