We are working with a local authority who are looking for a Team Manager within Children and Family Services to improve the welfare, safety and outcomes of the children and young people supported by the team.

Location: Southwest based Authority

Set-up: Hybrid

Rate: £42/hour inside IR35

Duration: Initial 3-month contract with likelihood of extension

Hours: Full-time position

Accountabilities:

  • A solid understanding of working with thresholds and assessment of need in order to identify the early identification of risk, harm and need
  • Experience in making timely, co-ordinated and proportionate responses to ensure the safety of children
  • An understanding of the need to recognise the importance of partnership working to safeguard children is essential
  • For developing and implementing an annual Team Improvement Plan
  • To set annual performance targets for individual practitioners in accordance with the Performance Development System
  • For holding regular team meetings and team-based learning sets,

Person Specification/ Experience:

  • Previous experience of leading and managing a busy front line children’s services team
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence when speaking to parents
  • Diploma in Social Work, CQSW, CSS, Degree in Social Work or other professional social work qualification
  • A high level of specific and applied professional expertise in the area of practice
  • Applied knowledge and understanding of the needs and risks of a diverse range of 4 Information Classification: CONTROLLED children, young people and their parents/carers
