We are working with an established engineering consultancy in Exeter, this business offers a number of property related services and has 3 offices across the region. We are looking for a structural engineer that not only has a passion for design but also for building and maintaining relationships and a progressive outlook on working with new and innovative software. Projects are interesting and diverse and include locally significant work.Key features of the practice;

Requirements for the role:
  • BEng/MEng/BSc or MSc in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Ideally knowledge of software such as Robot, Tekla Building Designer and Revit
  • Experience working with building structures, both new build and refurb
  • Strong communication skills; candidates will need to be able to liaise confidently with clients, contractors and architects
  • Chartered or aspiring to chartership with the ICE  or ISTructE
Responsibilities:
  • Leading a structural department and design team and being the point of contact for clients and stakeholders
  • Delivering detailed design of building structures both new build and refurb
  • Liaising with clients, contractors and architects 
  • Mentoring junior members of staff 
  • Running and delivering projects which will increase in size and complexity as you gain experience
  • Actively involved in recruitment and growth of the team
  • Helping with the implementation of new software
  • Have a key role in strategic planning
