We are working with a Devon based Local Authority to recruit for a Building Control Surveyor. To work with the Senior Building Control Surveyor in delivering the Building Control Service in a competitive and commercial environment.

Rate: £50 per hour – Umbrella
Duration: 3 months
Site Attendance: Hybrid working - The candidate will need to be flexible to attend site visits in the area as and when required. This will be a work from home role, but candidate will need to flexible.
Key Responsibilities:
- To determine Full Plans Notifications and issue decision notices
- Process Building Regulation notifications including the provision of pre-application advice
- The inspection and certification of building work
- Ensure effective enforcement where the Building Regulations have been contravened
- Respond to notifications of dangerous structures and recommend appropriate action to the Building Control Manager
- Manage workload of to meet statutory time limits, performance standards and service level agreements
- Advise officers of other units and Members on the Building Act, Building Regulations and construction related matters including disabled access, sustainability and means of escape in case of fire
Experience:
- Minimum level of qualification completed a Building related course of study such as NVQ level 4 or HNC or a registration with an appropriate professional body (CABE, RICS, CIOB) at Technician or Associate level
- Must be Registered inspector that is a Class 2A
