We are seeking a dedicated Building Services Engineer.

The role focuses on ensuring statutory compliance and maintaining, improving, and renewing building services to keep property stock at a high, efficient, safe, and effective standard in line with operational and legislative requirements.

Day-to-day of the role:

Conduct routine and other inspections/surveys of properties, preparing reports on the condition of building service installations and required works.

Assess and advise on work priorities, schedule works for annual programmes and update the Asset Management Plan considering the whole life/economic cost of assets.

Liaise with personnel and take responsibility for the implementation of maintenance and improvement works related to building service installations.

Maintain effective up-to-date maintenance records, report monthly to the Property Maintenance Manager, highlighting areas of concern and non-compliance issues.

Monitor the performance of contractors and consultants, reporting on their suitability for retention on approved records.

Provide building services advice to various managers and senior technical staff in the implementation of projects within the annual budget cycle.

Contribute to the Service’s Sustainability Development Strategy policy aimed at reducing carbon emissions.

Manage responsive repairs and replacements of defective building service installations, ensuring timely action on defect reports.

Ensure adherence to all relevant policies, procedures, and legislation, including Health and Safety and procurement policies.
