An exciting opportunity exists for a Design Manager to join a leading main contractor in Devon on a permanent basis.
The role involves managing and delivering design for various projects in sectors such as Education, Healthcare, Leisure, and Defence.
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a similar role with a main contractor and hold an HNC or equivalent in construction or design-related fields.
The position offers a competitive salary of £55,000 to £65,000 per year, depending on experience.
Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, and InDesign, along with a good knowledge of current CDM and Building Regulations, is required.

Design Manager – DevonAn incredible opportunity has arisen for a Design Manager to join a leading main contractor on a permanent basis! This contractor offers a complete package of construction-related services and a portfolio of projects involving New Build Commercial and Refurbishment schemes within Education, Healthcare, Leisure and Defence. Responsibilities:

For the management and delivery of design
Production of design programmes and scope
To brief the design team on their contractual obligations
Agree, in conjunction with the site team, the specialist subcontractor procurement strategy
Manage the submission and timely approval of all reviewable design data
Assist in the commercial and technical review of specialist subcontract tender returns, establish interfaces and review alternative design
Prepare technical submissions for alternative designs, system, component, product and or material proposals for client approval
Attend, chair relevant meetings and record, update and deliver progress report

Requirements:

HNC or equivalent within construction or design related
Proven experience in a similar role with a main contractor
Experience in development and implementation of design management tools and procedures
Proficiency in MS Project/Excel/InDesign
Good knowledge of current CDM and Building Regulations
UK driving licence
