Design Manager – DevonAn incredible opportunity has arisen for a Design Manager to join a leading main contractor on a permanent basis! This contractor offers a complete package of construction-related services and a portfolio of projects involving New Build Commercial and Refurbishment schemes within Education, Healthcare, Leisure and Defence. Responsibilities:
  • For the management and delivery of design
  • Production of design programmes and scope
  • To brief the design team on their contractual obligations
  • Agree, in conjunction with the site team, the specialist subcontractor procurement strategy
  • Manage the submission and timely approval of all reviewable design data
  • Assist in the commercial and technical review of specialist subcontract tender returns, establish interfaces and review alternative design
  • Prepare technical submissions for alternative designs, system, component, product and or material proposals for client approval
  • Attend, chair relevant meetings and record, update and deliver progress report
Requirements:
  • HNC or equivalent within construction or design related
  • Proven experience in a similar role with a main contractor
  • Experience in development and implementation of design management tools and procedures
  • Proficiency in MS Project/Excel/InDesign
  • Good knowledge of current CDM and Building Regulations
  • UK driving licence
