A leading multidisciplinary consultancy specialising in areas such as masterplanning, urban design, landscape architecture, environmental assessments, ecology, arboriculture, and green infrastructure is seeking a BNG Specialist to join their team in Exeter.

As an Ecologist Specialising in BNG within this multidisciplinary consultancy, you will be essential in developing and executing biodiversity strategies that align with regulatory and project-specific needs. You will collaborate with ecologists, planners, engineers, and environmental experts to incorporate biodiversity net gain into various projects, ensuring adherence to existing BNG laws and best practices. Your main tasks will involve performing BNG assessments, creating biodiversity and habitat management plans, providing guidance on ecological improvements, and interacting with stakeholders to promote sustainable results. Your expertise will contribute to the delivery of environmentally responsible and resilient project solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in ecology, with a strong focus on BNG methodologies and policies.
  • Familiarity with biodiversity assessment tools (e.g., DEFRA Metric) and GIS.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborative, multidisciplinary project delivery.
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Full right to work in the UK

Desirable:

  • CIEEM membership or equivalent
