Workshop Operative – Temp to Perm

gap personnel Exeter is recruiting for a Workshop Operative to join a well-established business near Exeter Airport. This is an excellent temp-to-perm opportunity for individuals looking to develop their skills in a fast-paced workshop environment.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of stock from Goods In through to production, picking, and despatch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working from works orders and drawings, ensuring production deadlines are met.
  • Picking and packing items on the stores production line, ready for shipping.
  • Monitoring stock levels and assisting with replenishment.
  • Ensuring proper preservation of products from receipt to despatch.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe workspace, following HSE and quality policies.
  • Supporting lean activities to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Ensuring company resources and assets are used effectively.
  • Operating machinery

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in stores or stock management.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and a proactive, team-focused approach.
  • A methodical and organised work style.
  • A driving licence is desirable due to the site’s location.
