Finance Administrator

Our client, a leading south-west business, is currently seeking a Finance Administrator to join their dynamic team. This role is part-time, 23 hours per week and offers the flexibility of hybrid working conditions.

As the Finance Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting the finance department's efficiency by managing payroll, processing invoices, performing account reconciliations, and producing essential financial reports, all while maintaining high levels of discretion and confidentiality.

The responsibilities:

  • Managing the receipt of incoming invoices involves uploading them to the relevant system to ensure they are efficiently processed.
  • Conducting both monthly and bi-weekly BACS payment runs.
  • Creating new accounts on the system includes the registration process under the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) with HMRC through their online platform.
  • Performing monthly statement reconciliations involves identifying any discrepancies and effectively communicating these issues to the relevant departments for resolution.
  • Collaborating with various departments to compile information is essential for comprehensive Environmental, Social, and Governance reporting.
  • Raising ad-hoc journals as needed ensures accurate financial tracking and adjustments.

The candidate:

  • Proven experience within a similar Accounts/Finance Administration role.
  • Ability to independently manage workload and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook, and familiarity with standard accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, or Xero is preferred.
