Finance ManagerExeter, Devon£50,000 - £55,000 per annum

Our client, an innovative and growing organisation based in Exeter, is currently seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join their close-knit team on a full-time, permanent basis. This position is office-based.

Reporting to and working alongside the Managing Director on a daily basis, the role is responsible for the entire finance function from day-to-day finances, monthly reporting and involvement at Board level.

The responsibilities:

  • Oversee all financial duties including ledger management, statutory returns, payroll processing, and administrative tasks.
  • Compile and present comprehensive financial reports, including monthly management accounts, Board Packs, and stakeholder submissions, while conducting project cost reviews and year-end reporting.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with various departments to develop strategic financial plans and create scenario-based forecasting models.
  • Manage cash flow and liquidity, overseeing banking operations, monitoring forecasts, and coordinating Senior Debt applications with legal teams.
  • Ensure financial compliance, implement best practices, and manage risk through financial modeling, audits, insurance oversight, and maintenance of robust internal controls.
  • Provide team leadership and stakeholder management by mentoring staff, representing finance at Board meetings, and fostering strong relationships with external partners.

The candidate:

  • CIMA / ACCA / ACA Qualified with in-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards, tax laws, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management and leadership with the ability to influence senior management.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills in financial reporting, and experience with accounting software.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively manage stakeholders and mentor team members.

This role would suit Finance Manager, Accountant, Assistant Financial Controller, Company Accountant, Group Accountant, Finance Business Partner, FP&A Manager, Qualified Accountant.

The role would be commutable from Exeter, Tiverton, Newton Abbot, Torquay, Exmouth, Dawlish, Cullompton, Crediton and Honiton.
