Payroll Manager The Role:

Youll be working as part of a friendly, dedicated team and will take the lead on establishing, then leading the payroll function as it grows.

Duties will include:

  • Developing and managing the payroll function for the business and clients.
  • Responsible for the timely input of payroll data including calculation of maternity, paternity, overtime, overpayments and attachment of earnings, as well as starters and leavers.
  • Ensuring the accurate application of pay rises and additional pay increases.
  • Reviewing the monthly payroll and overseeing the BACs file for the pay run.
  • Leading on the payroll and pensions processes, ensuring accurate monthly pension & HMRC reporting and submissions
  • Payroll reporting for senior management team, including variances, overtime reporting, etc.
  • Handling complex salary pensions and tax queries and explaining information.
  • Leading on the improvement of payroll systems and processes.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining pension schemes.
  • Liaising with finance, HR and clients in relation to payroll queries.
  • Liaising with HR to ensure HR compliance in terms of legislation, policies and procedures.

Payroll Manager The Rewards:

Salary: Highly competitive, based on experience and qualifications

Benefits: 24 days holiday + bank holidays, increasing with length of service, company pension, private health insurance scheme, discounted gym membership, death in service, career progression.

Hours: 37 hrs per week, Mon Fri

Location: Office based near Exeter, some wfh.

Payroll Manager The Person:

We are keen to hear from payroll professionals with current experience of hands-on responsibility for payroll and pension functions.

Youll be a first-rate communicator able to lead and positively manage and empower others to achieve.

You will enjoy using your expertise able to see the bigger picture and plan ahead whilst also being hands on to deliver an accurate and timely payroll and pensions function.

A natural problem-solver with excellent attention to detail, you will also possess experience of working with payroll software.

You will be a self-starter with a high energy approach and a desire to work in a fast-paced changing organisation.

You will be a team player and enjoy working in a collaborative manner with colleagues at all levels in the business.
