Grounds Maintenance needed in Exeter, £11.59ph PAYE - Reference: 5257424

  • To be responsible within an identified area and as part of a team for:
  • Grounds maintenance and vegetation management tasks such as grass cutting, hedge trimming, shrub bed maintenance including pruning, and weed spraying etc often using powered pedestrian and hand held equipment
  • Graffiti removal using chemicals or powered equipment
  • Mechanical sweeping
  • General maintenance of sports pitches, tennis courts and other outdoor sports facilities
  • As demand dictates, removing litter, emptying litter bins, removing small amounts of graffiti, trimming or removing weed growth and overhanging shrubs, cleaning public toilets etc
To respond to and resolve simple issues that arise on a day to day basis and to highlight other issues to the Public and Green Space Team LeaderTo report issues adversely affecting the look and feel of the public realm such as damaged streetscene or greenspace furniture, fly-tipping, stray dogs, dog fouling, abandoned cars, littering, illegal use of land, bins left on pavements etcTo inform members of the public and businesses about your work and help them with their queries and complaintsTo undertake training on the safe use of equipment and safe working practices and to achieve consistently good performanceTo take part in the exchange of ideas and participate in future improvements.To undertake work in a safe and effective manner at all times, following policies and procedures, and to be responsible for your safety and that of the publicTo use IT solutions that support mobile working and efficient responses to demand.To undertake basic recording of information e.g. play equipment checks or timesheets.To work flexibly at evenings and weekends when required to meet the demands of the service
