Are you a qualified Lawyer in Estate Administration and Probate looking for a new challenge? Our client, a leading international provider of shareholder, pension, remediation, and credit technology, is seeking a dynamic individual to join their team as the Head of Practice - Estate Administration & Probate.

In this role, you will play a pivotal role in the governance, risk management, and overall compliance of the organisation. You will ensure that the business delivers on its financial, operational, and service objectives, while maintaining high standards of case management, processes, and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of "Probate work" and "Estate Administration" to ensure the smooth preparation of papers for a grant of probate or letters of administration, collection of assets, settlement of liabilities, and distribution of estate assets in accordance with a will or letters of administration.
  • Maintain compliance with best practise standards, reporting requirements, and relevant regulatory and statutory requirements, taking appropriate actions to protect the business.
  • Conduct initial reviews and ongoing assessments of cases, identifying and managing risks with the correct governance.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, ensuring personal professional competence and upholding relevant licences.
  • Manage succession planning and supervise business continuity planning to ensure uninterrupted service provision.
  • Act as a key client contact, providing technical expertise and influencing operational outcomes.
  • Assist in managing and completing complex and high-risk estate cases.
  • Participate actively in financial performance management and budgeting, identifying revenue growth opportunities and cost optimisation.
  • Provide supervision and administration of relevant compliance processes.
  • Collaborate with all levels of the organisation, including senior leadership, and contribute to customer service and client support initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • STEP TEP (Trust and Estate practitioner) qualification is essential.

Skills, Capabilities, and Attributes:

  • Comprehensive understanding and ability in the area of Wills and Probate.
  • Detailed knowledge of inheritance tax rules, accounting, and procedures, as well as Income and Capital Gains Tax compliance in estate administration.
  • Proven experience in administering complex and high-value estates.
  • Client service focused with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Embraces challenges and responds positively to change.
  • Strong analytical skills and a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Risk management experience and data protection knowledge.
  • Proven ability to prioritise and delegate effectively.
  • Expert operational understanding and experience in customer service/client support initiatives and strategies.
