This well-established construction consultancy is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their talented team near Exeter. You will be leading your team on the delivery of a range of multi -million- pound projects across sectors including infrastructure, education, retail, residential, aviation, healthcare and more!

Your Responsibilities as Lead Quantity Surveyor:

  • Manage the commercial aspects of commissions and projects, including governance, fee management, job costings, and resource planning.
  • Prepare fee proposals and bid submissions under senior guidance.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring exceptional service delivery.
  • Lead project execution, ensuring professional and accurate service at every stage.
  • Identify and drive new business opportunities and generate repeat business.
  • Uphold principles of quality assurance and environmental management.
  • Mentor, develop, and manage trainee, assistant, and graduate colleagues.

Requirements of the Lead Quantity Surveyor:

  • Membership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or equivalent professional body.
  • In-depth understanding of construction forms, techniques, and costs, with the ability to advise clients effectively.
  • Strong client management and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to confidently represent the company during bid interviews.
  • Expertise in procurement options, with strong experience in JCT and/or NEC contracts.
  • Proficiency in electronic measurement and cost planning software.
  • Effective leadership and people management skills, with experience in training and mentoring.
