- Checking compliance with health, safety and environment policy arrangements and IMS procedures as part of the inspection and auditing process.
- Providing support, advice and guidance to all as appropriate.
- Undertaking regular health, safety and environment inspections and audits, the results of which are to be recorded and discussed with regional management together with recommendations for improvement.
- Attending and maintaining appropriate health, safety and environment training in conjunction with the regional training department.
- If necessary, ceasing work activities that pose a risk of serious injury or damage to the environment and assisting with an improvement action plan.     Â
- Liaising with enforcing authorities and other such statutory bodies.
- Arranging and chairing regular health, safety and environment meetings.
- Relevant construction related degree or HNC preferred
- NEBOSH
- Ideally IOSH Membership
- Experience of working with ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001
- Essential to have experience in a H&S or SHEQ role
- Proven background in construction ideally housebuilding
- Experience in carrying out hands on site inspections and audits
- Excellent communication skills
- Team player
- Organised and detailed approach
