Job Description:

The Met Office is looking for a Content Designer to support our data delivery programme. We aim to get our world-class weather data in the hands of users who can use it to help people stay safe and thrive. Met Office data is available through a range of internal and third-party systems, the Content Designer will create, evaluate, edit and update content to support the delivery of Met Office data services. This can range from creating micro-copy to appear on a user interface, to single pieces of distinct content, to providing the content for the end-to-end journey of a service.

This role will be embedded in a multidisciplinary team and will be responsible for writing and reviewing content relating to our data services, so the appropriate content is shown to users. They will ensure content is in the right place and in the best format to help users achieve their data goals. The Content Designer will work closely with User Researchers to ensure their content is based on evidenced user needs. They will also work with Interaction Designers and Service Designers to design end-to-end experiences that meet user needs. The role will form part of the Met Office dedicated User-Centred Design team, championing user-centred best practice within projects to help build a user focused culture.
