Ever dreamt of building your own grand design? Let’s imagine you’ve secured a great plot in a truly beautiful location, you’ve found an amazing team of architects and builders to work with you and support your ideas. The foundations are down and looking good. Now it’s down to you to design and project manage the build. Sounds great. Even better, let’s say your plot is so vast that you’ve got the potential to build your house even bigger as you come up with new ideas and plans over the coming years.

Well Placed HR have been exclusively retained by a new client, a business that has grown at an extraordinary speed and shows no sign of slowing down.

The company: An innovative technology focussed business helmed by an entrepreneurial and highly experienced C-Suite team, the business boasts a very healthy balance sheet and now employs in excess of 100 staff. They are genuine leaders in their field, offering a range of highly sought after products to its customers in the UK and beyond. This is a business that has experienced phenomenal growth putting their people at the heart of everything they do. They exude passion but maintain a fun work place. They are agile and fast thinking, yet have always maintained an inclusive culture. They’ve achieved a near perfect balance.

The role: A newly created role and a key appointment for the business, the board team are very excited to welcome onboard a highly experienced people management professional that can build on the HRM foundations already in place. This is a role that perfectly blends operational and strategic responsibilities with a broad and varied set of responsibilities, working collaboratively with employees throughout the business to deliver highly effective people management policy across a rapidly expanding business. We’ve a detailed role specification to share with suitable applicants so will save on specific responsibilities for now, but here are the highlights:

- Design, implement and develop a performance culture, ensuring that the management team have all of the tools at their disposal to reward and coach high performing employees, but also able to mentor in cases of underperformance.

- Talent management and employee elevation. Creating a culture of empowerment where employees feel valued in a company almost without limits. The business directors consider all of their employees to be potential future leaders and by developing highly quality training and coaching programs, the Head of People will play a key role in elevating the work force into positions of higher responsibility.

- Recruitment and selection. A fast paced, fast growing business needs to attract and retain gifted team members and that requires the creation and deployment of high quality talent attraction initiatives. They want their business to be a work place of choice and one where new employees feel genuinely excited by the future.

- A focus on diversity and inclusion across areas of the business, including management and C-Suite.

- Creating an exceptional employee relations experience, building on and developing existing HR policy and future proofing for a growing workforce.

The successful candidate: Needless to say, a highly experienced and extremely passionate HR-number-one with well rounded, general people management, ER and business partnering skills, ideally gained within a fast growth environment. This will be broad role where the successful candidate will require expertise in a wide range of operational and strategic responsibilities - developing HRM policy, best practice, high quality training programs and E, D & I initiatives. This will be a highly visible role within the business and it is imperative that the Head of People possesses a strong understanding of how effective HRM can enhance the business through people, performance and culture development. Our client is open minded where formal qualifications are concerned but we anticipate the new Head of People being qualified CIPD level 5/7 and possessing at least five years of recently gained experience operating at a similar level. Good general IT experience as well as experience using modern HR software essential. This is a highly communicative role where the successful candidate will develop strong relationships with stakeholders throughout the business, so great team working and communication skills will be a prerequisite!

But it also offers a very generous package of benefits - a great base salary (open to negotiation based on experience), immediate entry to an annual bonus scheme, a hybrid working arrangement, enhanced holiday allowance, family friendly benefits, pension scheme, life assurance and health care plan.
