Payroll Manager - The Rewards:

Salary: Highly competitive, based on experience and qualificationsBenefits: 24 days holiday + bank holidays, increasing with length of service, company pension, private health insurance scheme, discounted gym membership, death in service, career progression.Hours: 37 hrs per week, Mon - FriLocation: Office based near Exeter, some wfh.

Payroll Manager - The Role:

You’ll be working as part of a friendly, dedicated team and will take the lead on establishing, then leading the payroll function as it grows. Duties will include:

• Developing and managing the payroll function for the business and clients.
• Responsible for the timely input of payroll data including calculation of maternity, paternity, overtime, overpayments and emergency payments as well as starters and leavers.
• Ensuring the accurate application of pay rises and additional pay increases.
• Reviewing the monthly payroll and overseeing the BACs file for the pay run.
• Leading on the payroll and pensions processes, ensuring accurate monthly pension & HMRC reporting and submissions
• Payroll reporting for senior management team, including variances, overtime reporting, etc.
• Handling complex salary pensions and tax queries and explaining information.
• Leading on the improvement of payroll systems and processes.
• Responsible for managing and maintaining pension schemes.
• Liaising with finance, HR and clients in relation to payroll queries.

Payroll Manager - The Person:

We are keen to hear from payroll professionals with current experience of hands-on responsibility for payroll and pension functions.

You’ll be a first-rate communicator able to lead and positively manage and empower others to achieve.

You will enjoy using your expertise - able to see the bigger picture and plan ahead whilst also being hands on to deliver an accurate and timely payroll and pensions function.

A natural problem-solver with excellent attention to detail, you will also possess experience of working with payroll software.

You will be a self-starter with a high energy approach and a desire to work in a fast-paced changing organisation.

You will be a team player and enjoy working in a collaborative manner with colleagues at all levels in the business.
