Job Title: HR Assistant

Location: Exeter - OFFICE BASED

Hours: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (Flexible hours between 8am-5pm)

Role Description: We are looking for a full-time, on-site Human Resources Generalist to join our dynamic HR team in Exeter. Reporting to the Head of HR, you will be responsible for delivering a first-class generalist HR service to both managers and employees. This role will involve implementing HR policies, supporting various HR procedures and ensuring compliance with company policies and UK employment law.

Main Duties:

  • Act as a proactive member of the HR team, supporting the Head of HR to achieve departmental and company objectives
  • Collaborate with managers to handle disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence management processes
  • Ensure HR policies, procedures and processes are applied consistently, fairly and in line with current legislation
  • Oversee all aspects of HR administration
  • Liaise closely with and provide support to the in-house Recruitment team
  • Assist with ad-hoc HR-related projects as required

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience supporting disciplinaries, sickness management and grievances from investigation to outcome
  • Thorough knowledge of UK employment law
  • Extensive employee relations experience
  • Experience providing operational advice on a range of employment matters to managers and employees
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong ability to build positive relationships with managers and employees at all levels
  • Confident and articulate verbal communicator, capable of engaging with all levels of staff.
  • Ability to influence employees at all levels
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce accurate, clear and concise letters and emails
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
