Mechanical Fitter / Winder

I am searching for a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter / Winder to join the team of a growing business in Exeter. In this role, you'll play a key part in the workshop, taking responsibility for winding tasks, repairing electrical motors, pumps, gearboxes, and other rotating electromechanical machinery. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute your expertise to a dynamic team while ensuring the highest quality of service and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Expert Repairs: Conduct repairs on electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, and generators , ensuring that all repairs meet high-quality standards.
  • Winding Specialist: Bring your specialised electro-mechanical knowledge, focusing on rewinding AC and DC motors, stators, armatures, and transformers.
  • High & Low Voltage Works: Perform both low and high voltage rewinds and refurbishment of electric motors and generators.
  • Deadline Driven: Ensure all tasks are completed within specified timeframes to meet customer expectations and project deadlines.
  • Collaborative Team Player: Contribute to team success by taking on additional tasks as needed, supporting the smooth operation of the workshop.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience in the repair and refurbishment of electrical motors, pumps, gearboxes, and generators.
  • Expertise in rewinding AC and DC motors, stators, armatures, and transformers.
  • Knowledge of both low and high voltage electrical systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining the highest quality of workmanship.
