Graduate Town Planner - Exeter
Location: Exeter, Hybrid Working Available

The Company:

My client, a dynamic and specialist planning and development consultancy, is seeking a Graduate Town Planner to join their growing team in their Exeter office. This consultancy works with landowners, developers, and investors on a wide range of planning-related matters, providing expert advice across residential, commercial, retail, and urban regeneration projects.

The company prides itself on delivering personable and commercial planning solutions, with a strategic approach to navigating complex planning systems and securing client objectives. Led by experienced Directors, the team thrives in an environment that supports professional devlopment.

The Role:

As a Graduate Town Planner, you will gain hands-on experience, assisting in the preparation and submission of planning applications, preparing planning strategy reports, and supporting project management efforts for a variety of development schemes. The company offers an excellent opportunity for career development, providing exposure to a wide range of planning services, including Environmental Impact Assessments, planning appeals, and strategic site promotions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation, submission, and negotiation of planning applications
  • Contribute to planning strategy reports and appraisals
  • Support the coordination of multi-disciplinary teams on complex projects
  • Participate in community consultations and stakeholder engagement
  • Assist with political research and engagement with local planning authorities

Requirements:

  • A degree in Town Planning or related field
  • Working towards membership with the RTPI
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • A keen interest in planning and development, particularly within residential and commercial sectors
  • Ability to work well within a team and take initiative when required
