JOB TITLE: Paralegal (Graduate Opportunity)

LOCATION: Exeter

HOURS: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

SALARY: Competitive dependant on experience and qualifications

THE COMPANY: A local law firm, established over 50 years ago, covering a range of practice areas across the South West including Accident Compensation, Business Law, Conveyancing, Divorce, Family Law, Litigation, Personal Injury & Wills & Probate. This company have a passion for their people and have a commitment to delivering exceptional service.

THE ROLE: As a Paralegal, you will play a vital role, taking ownership of various cases from their early stages and supporting the partners in managing their caseloads and progressing cases under the direct supervision of the fee earner. You will meet with clients, take instructions for the preparation of documents and bundles, and deal with enquiries from clients.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing files and ensuring compliance with court directions.
  • Conducting thorough research and gathering evidence, including witness statements.
  • Assessing risks and advising clients with innovative solutions.
  • Engaging in client outreach activities, such as training sessions and legal updates.
  • Offering support to junior colleagues and fostering a collaborative environment

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:

  • This role would suit a law graduate looking to start their career or a Paralegal at the start of their career.
  • A degree level qualification or equivalent
  • A genuine desire to contribute to client success and team collaboration.
  • Practical experience of working in a support role to fee earners, desirable but not essential.
  • Team players with a positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
  • Diligent and organised, capable of managing a diverse caseload.
  • Initiative and ambition
  • Strong computer skills
