Senior Paralegal - Litigation Department | Full Time | ExeterTSR Legal are working with a full service law firm in Exeter who are seeking a motivated, experienced Senior Paralegal to join a busy Litigation Department, which handles a wide range of civil litigation matters including commercial and property disputes, contentious probate, and personal injury cases. The department is known for its collaborative team ethos, ensuring high-quality service for both clients and colleagues. Location & HoursThis full-time role is based in the firms Exeter office, with hours from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday, including a one-hour lunch break. Occasional travel to other offices in the South West may be required, so a driving licence and access to your own transport is essential. The RoleDue to continued growth, there is an opportunity for an organised, bright, and driven Senior Paralegal to support the department's development and manage a varied caseload under supervision. You will assist with a broad spectrum of litigation work while helping to grow the client base and fee income. Key responsibilities include drafting documents, liaising with clients and Counsel, preparing for mediation and hearings, and assisting with various administrative tasks. You will be expected to manage much of your own correspondence and documentation using our case management system and handle administrative duties for the wider team as needed. Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting on a variety of litigation files, including personal injury, contentious probate, landlord and tenant disputes, property matters, and debt collection
  • Attending meetings and liaising with Counsel
  • Preparing for mediation, hearings, and trials
  • Drafting witness statements and preparing documents
  • Undertaking research and investigations
  • Time-recording in line with company policies
  • Liaising with clients in person and by telephone
  • Carrying out filing and administrative tasks as needed

Skills/Knowledge/Experience

  • A minimum of two years' experience in a similar litigation role
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Strong IT skills, including experience with case management software
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills
  • A team-oriented approach with flexibility and initiative
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Familiarity with compliance standards, including Lexcel
  • Ability to undertake research and produce accurate, well-organized work
