Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Service Engineer to join our national service team, focusing on the South West of England (Exeter, Plymouth, Devon, and surrounding areas). This field-based role will involve:

  • Customer Breakdowns: Attending customer sites for breakdown repairs.
  • Installation & Commissioning: Installing and commissioning new weighing, traceability, and inspection equipment.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Ensuring customers' equipment operates efficiently and reliably.
  • Recommendations: Advising customers on upgrades or replacement of equipment.

As the ideal candidate, you will work closely with our service administration team, ensuring seamless service delivery to our diverse customer base, from small manufacturers to large enterprises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Travel throughout the South of England for service and support calls.
  • Provide installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on customer equipment.
  • Offer proactive solutions, including recommendations for equipment upgrades.
  • Maintain a customer-focused, professional attitude while delivering technical support.

Skills & Experience:

Ideal Candidate:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar field service role.
  • A willingness to travel and work across the South of England.
  • An interest and aptitude for PC-based systems.
  • Proactive, enthusiastic, and customer-focused.
  • Ability to identify sales opportunities for non-system-based scales when appropriate.

Required Knowledge & Qualifications:

  • Weighing industry experience is essential.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Full, clean driving license.
  • DBS certificate (Disclosure and Barring Service) required.

Desirable:

  • SPA Passport to Safety (within 3 years).
