Role Overview:
The Shift Engineer ensures plant uptime and efficiency, adhering to Mechanical, Electrical, and Environmental compliance. The business have multiple sites across the UK and have just had a heavy influx of investment, which means they need to add to their team rather than replace. You would be working predominently mechanically as the site is low voltage, so electrical qualfications are an advantage but not essential. You would be required to work at heights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize plant uptime.
- Quickly restore plant operations after breakdowns.
- Collaborate with ETM on long-term repairs.
- Oversee daily and weekly boiler maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with Electrical and Work Safety regulations.
- Manage steam, condensate, and air pressure systems.
- Safely isolate plant systems for maintenance and assist contractors.
- Issue Permits to Work and maintain safety protocols.
- Track spare parts use and communicate needs to ETM.
- Log all maintenance in the daily log and Assets Master (DSL).
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in work areas.
- Adhere to Health & Safety standards, Risk Assessments, and ISO guidelines.
- Contribute to environmental impact reduction efforts.
Requirements:
- Mechanical qualifications
- Boiler maintenance experience
- First Aid certification
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Self-motivated, safety-conscious, COSHH-aware
