You'd be joining a team on a 4 on 4 off rotating shift pattern (days & nights). This role is predominantly mechanically biased and you'll will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving the manufacturing equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct mechanical maintenance, repairs, and fault-finding on production machinery.
  • Work on conveyors, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, and other mechanical systems.
  • Strip down and rebuild manufacturing machinery, ensuring efficient operation.
  • Perform welding and fabrication (advantageous but not essential).
  • Carry out preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
  • Work at heights and navigate stairs as part of daily duties.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and implement improvements to mechanical processes.


Skills & Experience Required:

  • NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in fault finding, repairing, stripping, and rebuilding manufacturing machinery.
  • Strong knowledge of conveyors, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Welding and fabrication skills would be a bonus.
  • Previous experience in FMCG manufacturing is beneficial but not essential.
  • A proactive attitude with the ability to learn, adapt, and progress in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physically capable of working at heights and climbing stairs when required.
