ElectricalEngineer - Project Managing Plant Equipment

The Opportunity:

This role would suit an electrically qualified, experienced Plant Engineer or somebody who has worked as an Electrical Maintenance Technician,Manufacturing Engineer or Production Engineer. You'll beexperienced in all aspects of overseeing the production flow and successful implementation of new equipment throughout a 24/7 engineering environment. This role is critical to ensure that the manufacturing equipment, services, buildings and infrastructure are maintained and improved to meet the current and future demands of the business.You will be experienced inrunning multiple concurrent projects, sourcing and buying new equipment, designing shop floor layouts, working with the maintenance teams to plan interruptions to production, and generally working across multiple departments to implement new systems and equipment, specifically calling upon your Electrical skills and qualifications. The role will be 80% office based, with 20% of your time working on the shop floor or seeing suppliers.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Creating project plans to support machine rearrangement, equipment installation, improvement, and cost reduction projects.
  • Identifying, specifying, sourcing, and purchasing machines and equipment.
  • Supervising sub-contractors, ensuring project implementation to time and cost whilst complying with all Company and H&S requirements.
  • Identifying and implementing cost reduction and method improvement opportunities.
  • Purchasing parts and equipment for improvement works, collating receipts and raising purchase requisitions.
  • Carrying out plant engineering activities, with minimal supervision, across the site including building infrastructure and manufacturing equipment.
  • Providing technical expertise, including data analysis, planning and execution to improve equipment availability and asset utilisation for the site.
  • Identifying and making improvements to the reliability of equipment to reduce reoccurring faults and downtime.
  • Assisting Maintenance undertaking fault finding across the plant and on the equipment.
  • Implementing and driving reliability excellence (REX) on critical equipment.
  • Creation and maintenance of technical files for new and existing equipment.
Preferred Skills:
  • Qualified to a HNC or equivalent in Electrical or Controls Engineering with a minimum of 1 years relevant technical experience within an Engineering environment, however a development opportunity may be available for a candidate with other existing engineering qualifications and experience
  • Ability to identify and solve to root cause, repetitive reliability problems and write maintenance procedures
  • CAD experience, business system experience such as Oracle, MP2, Automation experience would be advantageous
  • Ability to collect and analyse overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) on critical equipment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Aware of Microsoft Project.
  • Multiskilled or experienced in both electrical and mechanical disciplines would be an advantage
Working Hours: Mon Thurs 8-4, Fri 8-2
