Position: Property Maintenance Engineer

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Property Maintenance Engineer to join our Housing Client based in the Lancashire area.
The Property Maintenance Engineer will be:
- To undertake maintenance and repair work (reactive, void and planned) as required to ensure that the properties are functional and safe.
- To take an active approach to the role and to be able to work on own initiative within the set procedures.
- Maximise the number of 1st time fixes, to minimise the number of revisits.
- Work closely with the Helpdesk co-ordinators and ensure efficient scheduling using the workforce management software/app
- Deliver quality maintenance experience for customers.
- Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner to customer.
- Provide detailed reports from site, using the mobile software tool, showing evidence through job cards, customer signatures, photographic evidence that the job has been successfully completed.
- Liaise with customers to explain if follow on work is required, the nature and timeframes of when the work can be done.
Essential skills for the Property Maintenance Engineer:
- Ability to work alone and to be self-motivated but also get involved with other members of the team from time to time on larger projects.
- Be confident dealing with vulnerable or special needs tenant, by being flexible, patient and courteous at all times.
- Familiar with Safeguarding requirements
- An excellent understanding of property maintenance (reactive, planned, emergency)
- Ability to undertake basic carpentry, minor electrical and plumbing repairs and general maintenance work.
- Ability to take verbal instruction and direction.
- Ability to follow written instructions and to keep written records of all repairs.
- Working knowledge of Health & Safety and use of PPE
- Ability to use own smartphone to accept jobs and upload reports & photos using our App
Benefits for the Property Maintenance Engineer:
- Full time position, 40 hours per week including travel time (half hour unpaid lunch is deducted), plus overtime when required

- Willingness to travel to sites to complete emergency repair works, during normal working hours and opportunity for out-of-hours emergency works
