Our client, a leading waste management company, is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Organics Supervisor to join their team. If you are passionate about sustainability, have a track record in supervising teams, and are skilled in plant operations this could be a great opportunity for you!

Job Title: Organics Supervisor

Location: Exeter

Salary: £34,807

Hours: Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours

The role: You will be supervising a team of 4-5 people, who all support each other and work towards a common goal in a positive, fast-paced environment. As an Organics Supervisor you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the composting facility, ensuring the smooth running of all activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the site is clean, safe, and in compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Operate plant machinery and conduct routine inspections and maintenance
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to plan and organise composting operations across multiple sites
  • Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Direct and control waste delivery vehicles within the green waste site area
  • Conduct site inspections, monitoring, and record-keeping to ensure compliance
  • Liaise with regulatory inspectors as required
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, with a focus on customer service, health and safety, and equality and diversity

  • Experience in plant operation and routine maintenance
  • Experience in supervising teams
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with individuals
  • Proactive in seeking solutions and improving operational efficiency
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
