Process Engineer (metallurgy)The Opportunity:An exciting opportunity within global Aerospace manufacturer who are currently expanding due to further investment, for an experienced and pro-active Process Engineer.  It would be an ideal position for a driven Process Engineer with a proven engineering/manufacturing background.  Ideally you’ll also offer a metallurgical background, but any mechanical engineering, process led background will be considered.The main purpose of the Process Engineer's role is to develop, implement and maintain all process engineering activities in order to technically support production of high quality product in a cost effective manner.The Role:
  • Responsible for qualification of robust processes, to meet customer specified requirements within a castings / metalshop environment.
  • Review metallurgical related product designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and customer contract requirements and related specifications in mind.
  • Co-ordinate activities concerned with agreeing customer specifications, technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering metallurgical issues.
  • Continuous improvement regarding processes.
Preferred Skills:
  • A minimum of 4 years of applicable process engineering experience and knowledge of multi-discipline engineering principles. Degree/HNC or equivalent in engineering discipline.
  • Working knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and ABS.
  • Proficient in computer applications (MS Office, MS Project, MRP systems). • A good statistical understanding (SPC/Process Capability/Gauge R+R).
