The company is at the forefront of waste management and resource recovery in the UK, operating the largest network of Energy Recovery Facilities (ERFs). We play a crucial role in supporting the UK's climate goals by diverting waste from landfills and transforming it into valuable energy resources.

Our Exeter Energy From Waste (EFW) facility has been operational since July 2014.

It operates under a partnership with Devon County Council and safely diverts about 60,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste away from landfill from households within Exeter and the surrounding area each year and enough electricity to power the equivalent of 6,624 homes.

Job Purpose:Responsible for the repair and maintenance of all mechanical equipment at the ERF plant, supporting other disciplines as needed. Ensures safe and efficient plant operation, coordinates contractors, and maintains a secure working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
  • Ensure maintenance targets are met safely and efficiently.
  • Supervise contractors as needed.
  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical faults.
  • Conduct plant and safety inspections.
  • Maintain accurate records in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Follow site procedures and health & safety protocols.
  • Perform risk assessments to ensure safe operations.

Requirements:

  • Technical qualification (City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent) with a recognized apprenticeship.
  • Experience in mechanical engineering in process industries or power plants.
  • Knowledge of Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate activities.
