Public and Green Space Team Leader

Exeter

Monday to Friday

7am to 3pm (37 hours)

PAY £15.84 per hour

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. To understand and organise what resources - staff, plant, materials and equipment - are required to meet demand and when the job is required.
  1. To supervise and support the Public and Green Space Operators actively in the streets, parks and open spaces to meet the demand for cleansing, and grounds maintenance services.
  1. To respond to requests for resources from Public and Green Space Operators, and external sources to ensure efficient operations.
  1. To undertake quarterly inspections of Council owned playground equipment, writing reports and arranging appropriate levels of replacement/withdrawal/ repairs of equipment to ensure safe levels of play for young people.
  1. To advise and assist people and businesses in keeping their local area looking good, acting as an ambassador for both the council and the city.
  1. To work flexibly at evenings and weekends when required to meet the demands of the service
  1. Such other duties relevant to the post and grading and relating to the overall job description which may from time to time be deemed appropriate.

Candidates must hold a full driving licence with no more than 6 points

Previous supervisory experience is essential within a similar environment

Experience of street cleaning equipment and knowledge of operational procedures

Candidates must be phyically fit as some heavy lifting is involved
