About this Role:
Experienced Senior Project Manager required by the West office of this busy Tier 1 main contractor.
Initially to take the lead for a 9m new build community centre in Exeter. Enabling works are underway with the main works due to commence shortly. Project comprises a large new build steel framed community building with extensive external civil engineering works on the site.
This role would suit an experienced and technically minded Project Manager
Thereafter, scope of work for this main contractor will include projects ranging 20m-35m in value in the secondary and further education, leisure, healthcare and blue light sectors primarily in the Devon & Cornwall regions.
As Project Manager within the business, you will be responsible for the tender, second stage preconstruction development and delivery of the larger schemes that the region delivers. Reporting to the Construction Director, you will be responsible for managing the projects through preconstruction stages through to start on site and then construction though to handover. You will lead your team holding ultimate responsibility for client liaison, design development, construction methodology and programming of works, the smooth and timely progress of construction on site, and financial control of the project throughout, plus safety and quality control.
About the Company/Client/Project:
The client is the busy regional office of a national main contractor, with a turnover in excess of 90m, with secured workload in the education, commercial, local authority and leisure sectors in the Devon & Cornwall regions.
Projects range in size from 10m to 35m, secured through a mixture of national and regional frameworks, negotiated schemes with repeat clients, competitive tenders, and work for the investment arm of the business. There is a good pipeline of future work, with 80% of turnover already secured for 2025
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
You will ideally be an experienced Senior / Project Manager with a proven track record within a major contracting organisation, able to deliver design & build schemes up to 25m+ in value. Key attributes will include excellent client, design team and site team management ability, technical, contractual and commercial knowledge, plus focus and drive.
Previous experience of working on large new build commercial buildings would be useful for this scheme.
