Estate Management Couple in Devon Position Type: Full-Time, Thursday to Monday.Accommodation: 2-bed traditional cottageSalary: £75,000 - £80,000 joint DOEThis down to earth family is seeking a proactive and experienced Estate Management Couple to oversee the day-to-day running of their large, family estate in beautiful Devon. The estate consists of the main house, 2 cottages and surrounding grounds. The role will involve managing the household, supporting the family's needs, and maintaining the estate to a high standard with the support of the other household and grounds staff.Responsibilities:Household Management:

  • Full housekeeping duties, including cleaning, laundry, and turning over the house on Mondays after the family's weekend stay.
  • Prepare simple, fresh meals for the family (primarily Thursday to Monday), with occasional Sunday roasts on weekends.
  • Manage household errands, including shopping for groceries and other necessities.
  • Oversee the upkeep and presentation of the estate, ensuring everything is well-maintained.

Estate and Grounds Management:

  • Assist with the gardener when required to manage the estate's grounds and gardens.
  • Supervise and manage any contractors working on the estate, ensuring all work is carried out efficiently and to a high quality.
  • Ensure the estate's additional two cottages are well-maintained and comfortable.

Pet Care:

  • Care for two dogs on the estate, including walking and ensuring their well-being.

Family Support:

  • Assist with the families needs, including occasional transportation (driver).
  • Provide support to the family assistant when needed, including helping manage contractors and other external services.
  • Provide assistance with various family tasks as required, including administrative duties.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead a small team consisting of a full-time gardener, part-time cleaner, and family assistant, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  • Organise and oversee household and estate activities, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a mindful, caring, and respectful atmosphere for the clients.
  • Be a hands-on and proactive presence, ensuring the household and estate run smoothly at all times.

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience as an Estate Management Couple in a large country home.
  • Strong housekeeping and laundry skills, with an attention to detail.
  • A good cook, with experience in preparing simple, nutritious meals for families.
  • Comfortable working with animals and managing pet care.
  • Strong organisational and managerial skills, with experience leading and coordinating a small team.
  • Proactive and able to take initiative without needing constant supervision.
  • Caring, respectful, and considerate nature.

Additional Information:

  • The role is a Thursday to Monday position, allowing for Tuesday and Wednesday as days off.
  • A 2-bedroom cottage is provided for the couple's accommodation, just across the road from the estate.
  • The existing couple has been in this position for one year, having now retired.
