This contractor builds in various sectors including commercial, education healthcare and leisure to name a few, this company has a strong client base with local authorities along with national and regional firms. Their aim is to deliver a high-end service and industry-leading construction techniques which set them apart from other main contractors.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-respected, recognised contractor who has a strong focus on internal progression and promotion.

Job Purpose:

Generate new business relationships and opportunities leading to pre-qualifications, tenders and negotiations in line with sales targets and key opportunity criteria.

Main Responsibilities:

Experience working within as a Business Development Manager in Construction is desirable but not essential, you may have other career experience that is transferable. Applicants who are working as Business Development Coordinators, Account Managers and Sales professionals are also encouraged to apply.

  • Understanding of the construction industry
  • Client meetings, develop client and consultant relationships, which are key to the business in order to influence and secure opportunity by providing invaluable feedback to the business
  • Generating leads and securing key opportunities for the business.
  • Researching leads & clients
  • Identify new potential key clients for the business,
  • Presenting opportunities to Directors
  • Attending industry events & representing the contractor
  • Managing pipeline and ensuring dealings are met
  • Assist in tenders/bids
  • Keeping up to date with the market, standards and any issues that could affect the business/future projects
  • Develop and maintain high level individual profile in the industry
  • Develop strategic approach to business development, focussed on the activity occurring within the relevant sectors.
  • Manage the production of media to support target sector, projects or framework presentations or meetings
  • Attend facilitate and present Preconstruction Meetings and general Business Development Meetings.
