Finance AssistantExeter, Devon£25,000 per annum

Our client, a recognised leisure and logistics company in the South West region, is currently seeking a driven and enthusiastic Finance Assistant to become a valuable part of their Finance department. This opportunity is for a full-time, permanent position, based in our clients Exeter office.

As the Finance Assistant, you will report to the Line Manager and play a key role in providing a timely and professional accounting service. This includes overseeing sales and general ledger functions. The ideal candidate will efficiently manage their workload, work collaboratively within a team, and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail in account reconciliation.

The responsibilities:

  • Generate invoices and maintain accurate billing records.
  • Address customer inquiries and ensure prompt payment.
  • Produce debt reports and present them to senior stakeholders.
  • Record bank transactions accurately and perform monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Reconcile petty cash and payments, ensuring they're allocated correctly.
  • Perform month-end tasks and handle occasional departmental responsibilities as needed to support daily operations.

The candidate:

  • Part AAT qualified or experience within a similar position.
  • Proven track record within a finance team in a business-oriented setting.
  • Experience in managing purchase, sales, and general ledger functions.
  • Prior usage of Sage X3 or equivalent financial software would be beneficial.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships internally and externally, and work effectively to resolve problems and achieve objectives.
