RSR Housing are currently recruiting on behalf of our client based in Exeter for a Supported Housing Service Manager.

The purpose of this role is to manage local projects, ensuring performance KPI objectives, quality standards and contractual obligations are met through effective management of local teams reflecting the values of Julian House. Maintain a visible and active presence within local teams. Ensure service improvements are embedded within local projects.

This is a full-time, (37.5 hours per week, participation in an on-call, out-of-hours rota) Permanent role, offering a salary of £31,400 per annuum.

Main Duties:

  • Manage teams, responsible for effective delivery of client led practices that deliver positive outcomes.
  • Provide operational management, staff line management of local project teams, including setting of targets, monitoring, and addressing any performance issues.
  • Provide supportive line management and supervision to team members ensuring regular reviews are in place including monthly supervisions, PDRs and any other reviews as appropriate.
  • Manage local staff teams to provide expert support to clients, encouraging clients to co-produce support plans.
  • Lead the effective recruitment, induction, and support of staff.
  • Contribute fully as a member of the Operations Management Team to achieve team/organisation objectives and standards, promoting effective communication and teamwork.
  • Maintain team performance to agreed internal KPIs and external contracted targets.
  • Maintain and provide KPI stats/information to Regional Managers for accurate reporting, on a regular basis.
  • Ensure financial procedures are maintained, and where relevant effectively manage voids keeping re-let times to a minimum, ensure housing benefit and service charge compliance is in place and targets being achieved.
  • Ensure neighbourhood and community relations are maintained responding positively to any concerns when raised.
  • Ensure teams have in place effective tracking of project referrals, engagement and outcomes with clients moving on positively from services.
  • Ensure clients views and feedback shape the design and delivery of local projects.
  • Ensure clients are provided with advice, information so that they can be signposted to and access appropriate services internally and externally.
  • Ensure teams are maintaining accurate records using Client Record Management system (INFORM), undertake quality assurance checks.
  • Manage local incidents and safeguarding ensuring action is taken, communicated, followed up and recorded.
  • Work with finance to manage local income and expenditure adhering to the annual budget for local projects set by Finance.
  • Ensure appropriate health safety and compliance actions are met by local teams. Liaising closely with Health, Safety and Facilities Team in the delivery of these.

Essential Requirements:

  • Have full driving license and access to own car.
  • Good knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Word, email and basic spread sheets.
  • Proven experience of managing at a team level complex projects e.g., outreach or accommodation-based support services which deliver positive outcomes.
  • Proven experience of managing local teams through change and implementing a culture of excellence, teamwork, and high performance,
  • Track record in implementing service improvements and innovation within projects.
  • Experience of managing budgets and achieving VFM within projects.
  • Management skills: ability to implement the direction set within projects. Motivate local teams to implement bold and creative projects.
  • Proven ability to manage local teams and projects resulting in high quality client service.
  • Ability to communicate, influence and network with colleagues and with external agencies at appropriate levels.
  • Relevant experience at managerial level within the sector
  • Highly organised and a completer-finisher.
  • Ability to effectively manage own and supervise direct reports workload.

Role is subject to DBS check at the relevant level.
