As Platform Engineer you will be a key member of our clients product and engineering team, you will bring your expertise in designing and delivering scalable, high quality and secure Azure solutions.
You will play a pivotal role in architecting and maintaining our cloud infrastructure focusing on automation, optimisation, observability and reliability. Your technical expertise, inquisitive mindset and commitment to exceptional service levels will drive forward our cloud strategy and seamless delivery of our applications and services.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Be solely responsible for managing and provisioning azure infrastructure. Across web apps, a data pipeline, and a data platform. Identify and resolve issues across the stack, from infrastructure to application layers. Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines. Own Service Level Objectives, ensuring system reliability and performance. Implement security best practices, monitor system health, use a proactive approach to handling issues. Document processes, provide training, and mentor team members to spread expertise.
What we are looking for
Experience as an Azure platform engineering or cloud infrastructure roles, with deep knowledge of Azure PaaS services and experience having input on cloud architecture. Comfortable using a common IaC language – we use Bicep. Comfortable using a common scripting language - we mainly use bash, with some Powershell. Comfortable writing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines – we use Azure DevOps. Strong fundamental understanding platform engineering concepts such as networking, containerisation. Dedication to delivering high-quality solutions focused on reliability, performance, and ease of use, while minimising unnecessary complexity. Proactive and curious problem-solver with a commitment to understanding and resolving root issues, without over-complicating solutions.
Desirable Responsibilities and Skills
Certifications in Azure, such as AZ-104 (Azure Administrator), AZ-305 (Azure Solutions Architect), (e.g., AZ-400) Understanding of database fundamentals and comfortable writing SQL the client uses PostgreSQL. Comfortable using data technologies such as Databricks and Azure Data Factor
