Infrastructure Engineer

Exeter, Devon - 12-Month FTC – Hybrid

My client, a leading organisation in Exeter, is looking to onboard an Infrastructure Engineer on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting infrastructure operations and delivering IT and security initiatives. The successful candidate will work alongside the existing DevOps team to support maintenance and implementation services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with partners to manage and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and security systems and controls.
  • Maintain IT service availability by monitoring performance and responding to alerts.
  • Develop and implement systematic approaches to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with the DevOps team to ensure security best practices are integrated into existing workflows.
  • Deliver IT enhancements and new technology solutions in line with the IT Project Portfolio to improve the organization’s efficiency and productivity.
  • Manage user access and permissions across various platforms.
  • Configure and manage monitoring tools and alerts.
  • Review, update, and maintain IT documentation and procedures.

Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in IT Engineering or a similar technical role.
  • Strong understanding of security principles and vulnerability management.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and security protocols.
