Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the preparation and submission of personal and corporate tax returns.
  • Supporting senior tax staff with tax compliance and advisory tasks.
  • Conducting research on tax legislation and staying up to date with changes in tax laws.
  • Liaising with HMRC to resolve client queries and ensure compliance.
  • Managing a portfolio of clients, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Supporting the team with VAT returns and tax planning projects.
  • Preparing correspondence with clients and assisting with general tax administration tasks.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in a tax-focused role (preferably within an accountancy practice).
  • ATT qualified or part-qualified (or willingness to work towards qualification with support).
  • Good knowledge of personal and corporate tax regulations.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using tax software (e.g., IRIS, Digita, or similar) and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction.
  • A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
