We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Transport Route Planner to join our clients team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and optimizing transportation routes to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Based on the outskirts of Exeter, this is a permanent position. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize transportation routes to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Analyze traffic patterns, weather conditions, and other factors to determine the best routes.
  • Coordinate with drivers, dispatchers, and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor and adjust routes in real-time to address any issues or delays.
  • Maintain accurate records of routes, schedules, and delivery times.
  • Utilize route planning software and tools to enhance route efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the logistics team to improve overall transportation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in route planning or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in route planning software (e.g., Route4Me, OptimoRoute is desirable).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
